- Completed entry forms are to be submitted no later than 7.15pm on the night of the competition.
- Print entries should be placed immediately on the print stands in the allocated area.
- A maximum of 4 prints & 3 digitally Projected Images can be entered in each competition. New
- Colour Prints – maximum image/mount size of 40cm x 50cm (16”x20”) - up to 2 Prints may be entered
- Mono Prints – maximum image/mount size of 40cm x 50cm (16”x20”) - up to 2 Prints may be entered
- Small Prints – maximum print size of 300cm2. Prints can be mounted in mount not exceeding 500cm sq. - up to 3 Small Prints may be entered
- All prints shall be identified with title and authors name and an arrow or the word “TOP” to indicate the top of the print.
- Digitally Project Image entries should be emailed to the Programme Coordinator ( Ilona Abou-Zolof ccdooleys@gmail.com New email) two (2) weeks prior to the competition.
- Digital Images – must be submitted in JPEG format with resolution not exceeding 1024 pixels in width and 768 pixels in height. Images should be saved with SRGB profile and should not exceed 500 kilobytes in size - up to 3 images may be entered
- Digital images shall be saved as follows (no spaces):-
The number 1, 2 or 3, Name in full, underscore and then image title
Example:- xJohnDoe_MyImageTitle.jpg
x must be 1, 2 or 3
- Images must be the author’s own work and be photographic in origin.
- In any one competition, an author should not enter the same or substantially the same image in more than one category.
- Entries gaining a Merit or Credit Award are expected to be made available for selection in future FCC Interclub or other external competitions.
- Any image which has not won a Merit or Credit award in a previous competition may be re-entered twice more without modification. Modified entries may be re-entered in a subsequent competition only if modified to the extent they constitute an entirely different image.
- All entries are subject to the approval of the Competition Secretary.
Guide to Competitions
Open: - any subject containing the elements of good composition and reflecting the interpretation of the photographer.
Nature: - Nature photography depicts living, untamed animals and uncultivated plants in a natural habitat, geology and the wide diversity of natural phenomena, from insects to icebergs. Photographs of animals which are domesticated, caged or under any form of restraint, as well as photographs of cultivated plants are ineligible. Minimal evidence of humans is acceptable for nature subjects, such as barn owls or storks, adapting to an environment modified by humans, or natural forces, like hurricanes or tidal waves, reclaiming it. The original image must have been taken by the photographer, whatever photographic medium is used. Any manipulation or modification to the original image is limited to minor retouching of blemishes and must not alter the content of the original scene.
Panorama: an image with a wide field of view. This may be a cropped image, a number of images stitched together or an image from a panoramic camera. Image may be in landscape or portrait.
Architecture: an image of buildings or structures, (ancient or modern, interior or exterior) monuments, columns, bridges or parts thereof.
Photojournalism: A record of any event which tells a story of what has happened, is happening, or is about to happen, the visual sight of which excites or stimulates one of the many human emotions.
Love: any photograph which depicts love or affection between human beings or other creatures, or between both, illustrating companionship, dependence, or trust.
Still Life: a photograph of a pictorial arrangement of inanimate objects whether natural or man made or a combination of both.
Competitions are held in four categories, that being Colour Prints, Monochrome Prints, Small Prints and Digitally Projected Images (DPI).
A maximum of three (3) entries are permitted in Small Prints and Digitally Projected Images (DPI) and (2) entries are permitted in Large Prints and Monochrome Prints.
You may enter any, all or none of the categories.

The top entry in each of the four categories will be awarded an extra point.
